Although I've rated you a 5, that could change. Unfortunately when I booked and paid for my 3 tickets, 2 adults and 1 adult concession, there wasn't a category for a carer. Our son Billy 35, has severe learning disabilities and unable to walk. He has either to be in a wheelchair or a motor scooter. He has Lennox Gault Syndrome, where he can have over 100 seizures a day, despite being on medication to reduce those numbers, and has to have 2:1 care 24/7. He also operates mentally as a 5 year old and loved the dinosaurs. When we presented our tickets at reception, they were surprised to see that we had 3 tickets and explained that we should be able to claim a refund for Billy's official care, his mother Melanie. They advised us to contact you and claim the carer concession. Here's hoping we can keep the rating as a 5 🌟. We all had an excellent day. Billy particularly enjoyed feeding the birds. Blackpool zoo is great. So many beautiful animals in a lovely setting. We had a lovely day & wish we could have stayed longer. If you love animals it is a must.

So many highlights. The care of the animals, habitats , staff, but probably a chat with a young researcher studying feeding habits of the red pandas.

We loved the zoo, we had two kids age 4 and 11 both children enjoyed the animals, the little one thought the dinosaur enclosure was amazing, it did rain a little but bought some gagols from gift shop and that done the trick, amazing day out for all ages. Would definitely recommend

Had a fab day saw all the animals and got good views of them all close up pictures .. lovely walk round the zoo plenty of food and drink options and lovely ice cream .. made my day to the lion cubs and baby elephant great day all round we will be back ..

Viewing tbe tigers through wall of glass was amazing, and seeing tbe baby elephant and 2 young lion cubs was lovely. Really nice, natural looking zoo.

There was a wonderful range of animals to see. The tiger looked distressed as was pacing in circles. There was no food stalls open bar the one cafe which created a feeling of a park being half in operation, created a sense of emptiness with closed stalls. The train was not running which was disappointing. We paid full price for our tickets.

Maybe a 15 minute respite to allow for any mistakes like the one I had, would probably have led to 5 stars rather than the 3 stars you got

Blackpool Zoo

Blackpool Zoo is a 37-acre wildlife park home to around 1,000 animals, featuring naturalistic habitats, daily talks, feeding sessions, and a strong focus on conservation, education, and animal welfare.

Please bring your ticket and a valid photo ID for verification.

Download your tickets ahead of time, as on-site Wi-Fi is limited.

What’s not allowed

Large suitcases and oversized baggage are not permitted inside the zoo.

Accessibility

Blackpool Zoo is fully wheelchair accessible. However, the zoo features mixed terrain, including tarmac, concrete, brick, tile, dirt paths, and aggregate surfaces.

Accessible toilets are available at every toilet block.

All public buildings offer at least one wheelchair-accessible entrance.

Service animals are not allowed inside Blackpool Zoo.

Subject to availability, trained assistance dogs can be looked after by staff if arranged in advance.

Additional information

Last entry is 45 minutes before closing. The zoo opens daily at 10am, though closing times may vary seasonally.

One free carer ticket is available per paying visitor with a disability (valid proof required on arrival).

Parking is not included and costs GBP 4.50 per day.

Guests who have not downloaded tickets in advance may be refused entry due to limited on-site Wi-Fi.
