Die Buchung hat gut funktioniert, wir kamen schnell in die Engelsburg hinein. Wir hatten den Audioguide über Dex, diese App muss man zuvor herunterladen. Der Audioguide war gut gemacht und informativ. Das Café ist super! Toller Blick!

Everything was just as described! We didn't have to wait to the endless queue and everything went smoothly. Although we faced some issues with the audio guide yet we still had a great time!

Wir hatten keine Wartezeit, der Audioguide war leider irgendwie nicht in der richtigen Reihenfolge, so dass es etwas schwierig war, zu folgen. Am schönsten war der Ausblick von oben runter auf die Engelsbrücke. Insgesamt hätte ich gedacht, dass man mehr sehen kann. Wir waren doch relativ schnell fertig mit der Besichtigung.

Getting started

Begin at either attraction. For Castel Sant’Angelo, show your ticket at Lungotevere Castello 50; for the Altar of the Fatherland, start at the tour operator’s office. At both sites, skip the ticket lines and proceed directly after a quick check-in.

What to expect

Castel Sant’Angelo

Originally built as Emperor Hadrian’s mausoleum, Castel Sant’Angelo later served as a fortress, papal residence, and prison. This cylindrical monument offers a journey through centuries of Roman history.

Spiral ramp and Chamber of Ashes: Walk the defensive ramp to the burial chambers, once holding the remains of emperors like Hadrian and Marcus Aurelius.

The Altare della Patria is Italy’s largest national monument, known for its neoclassical grandeur and sweeping city views. Your visit includes the Museum of the Risorgimento and Palazzo Venezia.
