Begin at either attraction. For Castel Sant’Angelo, show your ticket at Lungotevere Castello 50; for the Altar of the Fatherland, start at the tour operator’s office. At both sites, skip the ticket lines and proceed directly after a quick check-in.

Originally built as Emperor Hadrian’s mausoleum, Castel Sant’Angelo later served as a fortress, papal residence, and prison. This cylindrical monument offers a journey through centuries of Roman history.
