This is one of the most no hassle experience we have had in Innsbruck. From the beginning to the end there were multiple places where we had to swipe these tickets including alpine zoo. This is the kind of no stress experience and swipe we need when we buy such tickets upfront from different countries. It not only reduces unnecessary anxiety in a new country, but also gives us the much needed enhanced customer experience and gratitude. Thankyou for being our solid partner.

We had a 1/2 day planned to visit Innsbruck. We have a 7 yr old. We purchased this on the drive and so glad we did! We went to the Top of Innsbruck and then the Alpeenzoo. We extended our day bc of these experiences. Wonderful experience!

Normalerweise hätte ich 5 Sterne vergeben, allerdings klappte bei uns der QR-Code nicht! Wir wollten direkt vom Alpenzoo starten um erst mal zum Top of Innsbruck zu kommen. Weder an der Hungerburgbahn, noch nach einem Gang zur Zoolasse war unser QR-Code gültig. Nachdem uns niemand helfen konnte sind wir mit dem Auto zum Parkhaus Hofburg/Stadttheater gefahren, um an der Kasse der Talstation(wo nicht je ein Fahrkartenautomat ist) dies zu reklamieren. Dies hat uns erst einmal Parkgebühren am Zoo gekostet und viel Zeit!!!! Und vorher noch einen Anruf bei Headhunter, wo erst eine KI vorgeschaltet war und dann auf Englisch weitergeholfen wurde. Dort konnte uns aber geholfen werden, da alle Online Tickets, welche am Vortag gekauft wurden, nicht funktionieren. Wir bekamen physische Tickets ausgestellt... Von jetzt an war alles Top!!!!! Woran der Fehler lag und an wem genau lässt sich nicht eroieren, ist aber im Nachhinein nebensächlich, denn wenn alles klappt sind die Tickets ihr Geld wert!!!! Deshalb leider nur 4 von 5 Sternen!!!!

It was a fun day in Hungerburg and the Alpine Zoo. It was one of the hottest days of the summer, so it was a bit challenging. One recommendation I have regarding the zoo: the signage and way-finding is very limited. It was difficult to know which path to take. Seeing the animals was exciting, especially the chamois feeding her kid. The funicular was very well organized and the waits were not long.

It is a lovely zoo - very hilly as you would expect on the side of a mountain, but the animal enclosures are spaced about and you are able to go inside a lot of the bird enclosures.

Loves the gondol up to the mountains, the zoo was not as expected, did not see any animals, Only birds and goats etc non exotic animals...

Getting started

Enter Alpine Zoo Innsbruck by presenting your ticket at the entrance and proceed directly inside without needing an additional registration step. Once you are in, decide your own pace as you start exploring the paths and enclosures. If you arrived by public transportation, follow the on-site signs from the stop to reach the main gate.

What to expect

Alpine Zoo Innsbruck

Set at 750 meters above Innsbruck in Tirol, Alpine Zoo Innsbruck focuses on wildlife from the Alpine region. You can plan your route in advance or on-site, then move between exhibits using the internal paths.

Features

A zoo map (Zooplan) is available for download as a PDF, so you can review the layout beforehand and choose the sections and animals you want to prioritize during your visit.

Entry to Alpine Zoo is included with every ticket option, giving you access to the enclosures and facilities throughout the operating hours on the day of your visit.

If you select the combo with round-trip tickets to Top of Innsbruck, your experience also includes the cable journey up and down as per the option chosen, so you can combine the zoo with a visit to the city’s high-altitude viewpoint.

With the Alpine Zoo Entry Ticket + Hungerburg Funicular option, you receive a round-trip on Hungerburg Funicular in addition to zoo entry, which connects the lower city area with the Hungerburg level where the zoo area is accessible.

The Alpenzoo is open 365 days a year, including all holidays, so you can schedule your visit in any season and still find the zoo operating.

Accessibility

Wheelchair accessibility: The zoo is largely wheelchair accessible, with wide paths and accessible enclosures. Some paths in the upper area are steeper and may require assistance.

What's not allowed

Pets: Dogs are not permitted inside the zoo. Assistance dogs are allowed subject to the zoo's identification and vaccination requirements.
