Athens for first-timers

Incredible but here's why - go first thing 8am and during shoulder season Is a real gem! Save the cup of coffee for after because there are no drinks other than water allowed and there are great breakfast spots on the way out! The sunrise is stellar and less crowd means better photos and better views. Bring a jacket in September October as it's chilly that early but definitely work it!

Saved us time to explore more of Athens, not have to wait on the ticket line. So many great things to see and do here, thx.

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and took time to explain the significance of different artifacts. Victor also explained the meaning behind all of the gods and different celebrations making the Acropolis come to life!

The experience with Headout was just awesome! Timely pick up, driver George was a good spirited guy and our guide Maria had quite the Greek delivery of the stories sorrounding The Meteora 😂. I am retelling some of the stories in her tone 😁 I have posted so many photos but I keep telling my friends back in Kenya, the deeply felt experiences are exactly those I could not capture on camera 🤷🏽‍♀️ Poli orea! Telio!! Fantastico!!!

This tour was absolutely wonderful. The views of the landscape as we wound our way up through Meteora were stunning, and there were plenty of opportunities for photos. Our guide, Maria, was so knowledgeable and friendly, and her enthusiasm was infectious. We learned all about the history of the area and the monasteries, and her knowledge was so current that she knew how many nuns would be joining one of them by the next month! The monasteries themselves were so beautiful, and the art in the churches was nothing short of spectacular. Also, some of the artefacts in the museums were amazingly well-preserved for how old they were. The drive was very long (I recommend bringing something to do) but comfortable, with stops halfway (that's about 2 hours, so if you need regular bathroom breaks, bring some coins for the monastery bathrooms). Lunch was tasty and hearty, and kept us well-fuelled for all the walking. By the time we arrived back in Athens, we were completely exhausted, but it was so worth it. I'd go again, and definitely recommend this tour to anyone. Thank you again Maria for making our experience so amazing :)

The price is fine. The bad reviews, we had a stomach ache to book it online. but everything was totally uncomplicated and worked without any problems. Perhaps the departure times could be combined a little better with the other lines. Unfortunately the last trip wasn't clear for us and so we had a little problem at the end of the day. We would like to emphasize that the staff was super friendly and helpful. We would have liked a little more information about the headphones, they are a bit thin and could be expanded. You can approach everything with the normal metro, but it was much more relaxed.
