Sightseeing Cruises in Milford Sound

Despite the weather, the boat cruise was great. Approx 40 people on boards so plenty of room. The commentary from Steve was informative and not too much. He did a great job getting us close to the spectacular waterfalls. We were lucky to see some seals having fun in their environment. The Milford sounds really are awe inspiring. Even the road trip out was incredible. Make sure you allow plenty of time to travel there as it's a busy route with buses and windy roads.

This cruise of Milford Sound was fantastic the scenery was amazing and it was a beautiful sunny day for great photo's. The size of the boat for the small amount of people also made it the best way to see the Sound; the staff were great and gave great commentary for the which when why about the Sound. This is my second visit and on the smaller boat this time was the more enjoyable.

The Milford Sound boat excursion was awesome and I'd highly recommend it. However I would recommend bypassing Headout and booking directly with Pure Milford. Headout gave us the incorrect information saying that they were collecting us from our accommodation, which they did not do. We were left waiting for a ride that never arrived. This could have ended badly if we hadn't been able to walk to the bus stop in town. Headout you need to give people the right information!

We did the Milford Sound cruise with coach transport from Te Anau. Milford Sound was incredible - as good as expected, an amazing place. However, what really set this trip apart from others was the coach journey from Te Anau to the Sound. Our driver/guide, Peanut, was incredible!!!! Throughout the whole journey, there were great stories about the history, geology, flora and fauna, and characters of the area. Peanut’s knowledge, humor, and storytelling were amazing. The best guide I’ve ever had! By the time we got to Milford Sound, we all felt like we knew everything about this incredible part of the world. Thank you RealNZ and thank you Peanut for a truly amazing day.
