Purchasing tickets online was a quick , easy and smooth experience and we got the day we wanted. Pricing was fair and no other hidden costs. We picked up our physical tickets at the ticket sales counter and proceeded straight on to the observational seating area. Every part of the experience was smooth, straightforward and very enjoyable. Seeing the penguins emerge from the water was the absolute highlight and exactly why we were there. A brilliant, positive and unforgettable experience . Thank you Headout, we highly recommend you and visiting the Penguin Parade !

All 3 parks on Phillip Island, easily booked through Headout, provided diverse and interesting experiences. Churchill Island gave a historical perspective, while the Koala reserve informed us of endangered species. The Penguin Parade was the highlight, with the penguins arriving via a "penguin raft" to nest in their burrows for the night.

We booked basic tickets but when we got there we decided to upgrade to premium and we're so happy that we did. We were in a much smaller seating area so far less people and we had a closer view of the penguins. Graham, the guide, gave us loads of info and improved the evening immeasurably. Give Graham a pay rise, he was great.

I think what made it special was I had two lovely fillipino ladies who were so amazed by the courtesy of the staff and patience they showed along with their knowledge of the penguins tge night was truly amazing

We had such an amazing visit, and the penguins were the highlight of the trip! The staff were so lovely and informative, and made the experience really incredible.

Catch sight of little penguins returning home at dusk in the world-famous Penguin Parade. The parade is particularly great for educating children on wildlife and nature awareness.

Admire the penguins on the new Penguins Premium viewing platform that's directly inspired by the magnificent coves of the island's southern coast.

Great experience which was only marred by the behaviour of some other tourists despite being given clear instructions on what not to do and WHY they shouldn't do it, some people couldn't help themselves. The staff should have been vigilant in enforcing the rules. It is the responsibility of both the managers and visitors to protect this wonderful experience

The view in the phillip island is breathtaking. Especially the sunset, just wow. The only thing that disappointed are the penguins. The penguins it's not what we expected, we just saw like 2/3penguins only and it's soo crowded during the weekend, Saturday. You have to squeeze yourself to find a spot to see the penguins. But overall, the views are superb.

What to bring

You can pack a raincoat or umbrella if rain is predicted.

What's not allowed

Photographs and video recordings are not allowed when penguins are coming home, because the artificial light sources will stimulate the eyes of the penguins. The island implements light control at this time.

Big bags are not permitted. Only small carry-on bags are allowed inside.

All parks are accessible by wheelchair.

Additional information

Penguins arrive at sunset each evening, with typical arrival times ranging from 8:30pm to 9pm in summer (Dec–Feb), 7pm to 8pm in autumn (Mar–May), 5:15pm to 6pm in winter (Jun–Aug), and 6:30pm to 8pm in spring (Sep–Nov). Arrive at least 1 hour beforehand to secure your seat and enjoy the visitor center before the parade begins.
