Smooth entry but more importantly, excellent staff. Very friendly and helpful.

Strike a pose with Taylor Swift, dodge Iron Man's repulsor blast, and save the world alongside the Justice League, all in one afternoon at Darling Harbour.

Getting started

Madame Tussauds Sydney is at 1-5 Wheat Road, Darling Harbour, right on Aquarium Wharf; look for the red-carpet entrance between SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. From Town Hall or Wynyard stations, it's a flat 10-minute walk; the Darling Harbour ferry wharf is a 2-minute walk away. Arrive at your booked time slot — the venue is self-guided, so you enter and move through at your own pace. No paper ticket needed: your mobile ticket is scanned at the door.

What to expect at Madame Tussauds Sydney

Over 100 wax figures are spread across themed zones, and the quality varies — the most recent additions (Taylor Swift, Avatar's Jake Sully, Chris and Liam Hemsworth) are the most detailed. Grab the props scattered throughout each zone; reviewers consistently say they're what make the photos. Staff members circulate to take group shots, which frees up your hands and keeps the queue moving.

Plan for 1.5 to 2 hours to move comfortably through all zones. Weekday mornings are quietest; weekend afternoons get busy, especially in the Marvel and Justice League zones. The attraction is entirely indoors and air-conditioned, so it's a solid choice on a hot or rainy Sydney day.

Zone highlights:

Illuminate Sydney: An A-list party zone with Beyoncé, Harry Styles, and Kylie Minogue; theatrical lighting makes for the strongest photos.

Wild Australia: Designed to evoke the Daintree Rainforest, with Robert Irwin as the centrepiece.

Justice League: A Call for Heroes: Wield Wonder Woman's gauntlets, help Superman lift a real helicopter, and signal Batman. Fully interactive, not just photo stops.

Marvel Superheroes: Pose upside down like Spider-Man, stand next to Iron Man and Wolverine; the zone also houses the add-on Carnival Carnage 7D ride.

Sydney Live!: Music icons including the new Taylor Swift figure and Harry Styles.

Film & TV: Includes Avatar's Jake Sully (new addition), plus Johnny Depp, Lady Gaga, and more.

History & World Leaders: Albert Einstein, Mahatma Gandhi, Barack Obama; quieter and less crowded than the pop culture zones.

Sports: Tim Cahill, Chris Hemsworth in Thor character, and other sporting legends with props for action shots.

Features

100+ figures across 8 zones: Australian icons, global celebrities, superheroes, and world leaders all in one venue.

Fully interactive: Props, gauntlets, and activations throughout, not just photo-friendly statues.

Self-guided at your own pace: No tour group, no schedule: stay as long or short as you like within your entry window.

Staff on the floor: Team members help with photos across the venue; reviewers regularly call this out as a highlight.

Indoors and air-conditioned: Reliable wet-weather or hot-day option in central Sydney.

Combo savings: Combine with SEA LIFE Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, and Sydney Tower Eye and save up to 60% on individual prices.

What to bring

Fully charged phone or camera — You'll want it. Photo-heavy attractions drain batteries fast; a portable charger is worth it.

Comfortable shoes — The venue is flat and entirely indoors, but you'll be on your feet for 1.5 to 2 hours.

Your mobile ticket — QR code is scanned at the door; no need to print.

An outfit with some contrast — Reviewers note that solid-coloured clothing photographs better against the themed backdrops.

What's not allowed

No food or drink inside the attraction zones.

Professional camera equipment (tripods, large rigs) is not permitted; phones and standard cameras are fine.

Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult (18+) at all times.

Children under 2 enter free; bring ID or passport for age verification at the door.

For the Carnival Carnage 7D ride: children under 12 must have a 1:1 adult chaperone on the ride itself.

Tickets are non-refundable, but you can cancel up to 24 hours before your entry time for a full refund. No same-day cancellations.

Entry is subject to your booked time slot — late arrivals may be turned away if capacity is reached.

Accessibility

Fully wheelchair accessible with ramp entry; wheelchairs are available to rent on-site.

Stroller accessible throughout all zones.

Service animals are welcome inside.

All floors are on one level — there are no stairs between zones.

Accessible toilets are available on-site.

If you have specific accessibility questions, contact the venue via the official website before your visit.
