Featuring some of ABBA’s most iconic songs like Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, and The Winner Takes It All, the show turns the pop group’s greatest hits into a joyful, full-throttle musical experience. With a book by Catherine Johnson and direction by Phyllida Lloyd, the original Broadway production was nominated for multiple Tony Awards and helped cement jukebox musicals as a genre in their own right. At the Winter Garden Theatre, audiences get a chance to relive the magic with Broadway flair, top-tier performances, and a set that channels sunny Greek island charm right into the heart of New York.

The story

On a picturesque Greek island, young bride-to-be Sophie is on a mission to discover the identity of her father so he can walk her down the aisle. The catch? There are three possibilities—and she’s secretly invited them all to her wedding. As Sophie’s fiercely independent mother, Donna, reunites with the men from her past, secrets unravel, emotions flare, and ABBA’s music fuels every twist and turn. Set against sun-drenched beaches and swirling with romance, family tension, and unexpected laughter, Mamma Mia! is a feel-good celebration of love, identity, and the beautiful messiness of life.
