Big, grand, but also a bit overwhelming. There’s just SO much to see. My husband and I split up halfway because he wanted to see the art and I wanted to chill by the fountains. Both happy in the end!

Went with my dad on a random Thursday. The palace is ENORMOUS, like you think you’ve seen a big hallway but then boom—another one, even fancier. I kept losing track of how many painted ceilings I’d seen. Bit of advice: bring water. I didn’t and was regreting it by room #7. Staff were chill, but didn’t speak much English, so we just sort of nodded at each other. The fountains outside are worth the walk (yes, it’s a trek, but it’s pretty and there’s shade sometimes). My dad loved the old statues, I was obsessed with the floor tiles. Didn’t get to see everything because my feet gave up. Def wanna come back for the gardens alone.

The palace is impressive in scale but felt a little impersonal. Staff were polite but not super helpful. We did enjoy wandering the gardens, though—great place to relax after the heat inside.

We visited on a rainy day and it was actually really cooool—fewer people and the gardens looked magical in the mist. A bit slippery though, so wear good shoes.

If you like big old buildings, this is for you. The main staircase is STUNNING. Some of the rooms are a bit samey but worth a look. Gardens are worth the walk, especially if you like statues.

I’m a photographer and this palace is a DREAM for photos (outside at least, inside is tricky, lots of no-photo signs and guards watching). The gardens are where I spent most of my visit—sunset light is unreal. Bring a zoom lens if you have one, you’ll want it for the fountains.

Stunning! Came with my partner. We booked the earliest time slot and basically had the main staircase to ourselves. The paintings on the ceilings are MINDBLOWING. Recommend comfortable shoes, you’ll do a LOT of walking.

We came with a group of friends, didn’t really plan it out—just showed up, but it worked. The line was kinda long (maybe 30 mins) but moved fast enough. The palace is soooo photogenic, but lots of no flash signs. Garden was lovely, but don’t expect flowers everywhere, mostly fountains and grass. Still, loved it.
