Fantastic tour and active animals, even in the heat!We visited the San Diego Zoo on 9/6 and had a wonderful experience. We decided to do a guided tour, and our guide was fantastic—very knowledgeable and engaging. It was a warmer day, so we weren't sure how active the wildlife would be, but we were pleasantly surprised to see so many animals out and about. It's a massive, beautiful park with plenty of shade. A perfect day trip!

What made our visit to the San Diego Zoo so special was that it was our first time visiting the Zoo. This was a late birthday gift for my 12 year old son. He had been wanting to visit the spacious, miles and miles of open land home to thousands of animals. He especially loved seeing the reptiles, and also the lions. We would totally visit again! Thank you San Diego zoo for such a wonderful vacation!

Family fun with relatively short walking distances for a zoo. The weather was great and we enjoyed the bus ride around the park after our legs got tired. We waited 15-20 min to ride on the top of the double decker bus. Park staff was very courteous. We got to see the giant pandas after the initial opening rush was gone and only waited maybe 10 minutes. Most importantly they have two axolotls.

My daughter loved everything it was her 2nd birthday and she was just taking it all in safari was amazing and all staff both in stands stores and guides were very helpful and insightful we still havent hit the zoo part yet and will go back once tht e heat dies down a bit 😅

Es hermoso. Todos los animales que hay ahí, son espectaculares, lo único que note es que muchos tenían demasiado calor, era muy fuerte el sol, sería muy bueno ponerles algún sistema de frío a algunos que no tolerar ese calor

This was a special visit to the zoo to celebrate my grandson's second birthday. It was Lolo and Lola's first visit as well. The weather was pleasant with a slight breeze, the food was decent for the zoo. Watching our grandson laughter and enjoyment was well worth the travel from Northern California to spend time with him. The zoo was clean and well maintained we laughed, ate and enjoyed the day. Such a magical experience, most of the animals cooperated and were out on full display. I would definitely recommend the zoo to others. It's one of the best zoos in California in my opinion.

My visit to the San Diego Zoo was excellent! The zoo was beautiful, clean, and very well organized. There were so many amazing animals to see, and the exhibits were impressive and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the entire experience was enjoyable from beginning to end. I had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend the San Diego Zoo to anyone visiting San Diego. I look forward to visiting again!

We had a wonderful family day at the zoo. 5 grandkids 7 and under, 8 adults. We had a very easy entry since we already had our tickets. Walking around this beautiful area was definitely a highlight of our trip. My 7 year old granddaughter was thrilled to see the koalas, it was number 1 on her list.

What a beautiful zoo with so much space for the animals. I like watching the elephant eat from the container on the tree. And the koala bear woke up and climbed the tree! Lunch was in the restaurant where I sat outside looking at a waterfall! I felt like I was in a treehouse. The employees were always available to answer any questions we might have-from directions to info about the animals we were looking at. I am 70 years old and have been to many zoos and this one tops the list.

Getting started

Head to the San Diego Zoo entrance and have your ticket ready for validation. Your ticket is scanned at the entry point before you proceed through the zoo’s security screening. Once inside, check the daily schedule for keeper talks and presentations, then use the zoo map to plan your route or start with the guided bus tour to get oriented.

From African elephants and giraffes to koalas, polar bears, tigers, cheetahs, and anacondas, the zoo offers a full day of animal encounters alongside educational and conservation-focused experiences.

With your voucher, you can skip the ticketing window and proceed directly to the entrance.

Please be aware that this privilege is only applicable for bypassing the admission ticket line and does not extend to the bus or Skyfari lines.

The two visits can be done on any day within the year and do not have to be consecutive.

The tickets are non-transferable and must be used by the same person on any and all days.
