We visited several museums while in Paris and L'Orangerie was by far our favorite. The special exhibits were interesting, but it was the regular collection that captivated us. The museum is also a manageable size so didn't feel overwhelming.

It is conveniently located close to the Louvre and the Musée D'Orsay but is compact so that only a few hours visit is necessary unlike its far larger neighbours!

We enjoyed our visit to the orangery, where we had a great time as a family. We were able to travel back in time thanks to the magnificent works by Renoir, Matisse .....and the marvellous water lilies, which still impress us to this day!

I was going to see the Modigliani exhibition...over since January 15th..:smirk::smirk: Soutine Derain Rousseau Picasso I liked and calmed my disappointment The must: the beaming faces of the Japanese and other people looking at the Water Lilies!

The Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris displays a collection of impressionist and post-impressionist paintings. The collection of the "Nymphéas de Monet" and the Walter and Guillaume collection which brings together works by Auguste Renoir, Paul Gauguin, Paul Cézanne, Alfred Sisley and Claude Monet. The entrance to the museum at the indicated time without queues.

  • Guests who enter for free must obligatorily book a timeslot as a limited number of people are allowed into the museum at once.

  • Security check is mandatory for all visitors.

  • Please note that there is free admission for EU residents under the age of 26 and for anyone else under the age of 18.

  • Note that the following are not allowed: luggage and large bags.

  • Daily: 9am to 6pm (last admission at 5:15pm)

  • Closed on Tue.

  • Entry is free on the first Sunday of every month

  • Please note that there is free admission during the following days: European Heritage Days on the third weekend of Sep, and every first Monday of the month from Nov to Mar.

  • Please note that there is free admission for EU residents under the age of 26 and for anyone else under the age of 18.

  • The audio guide is available in Spanish, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Arabic, and Russian.

  • Facilities: Wheelchair Accessibility.

  • If you wish to avoid crowds, we recommend visiting the attraction between 10:30am and 11:30am and between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.

  • Bring along your passport and ID card.

  • Photography allowed, Guide dogs allowed.
