Main Entrance (Château d'Azay-le-Rideau)
The main entrance to Château d'Azay-le-Rideau is located on Rue de Pineau, directly across from the town’s central square and just a short walk from the village center. Look for the large wrought-iron gates and the ticket office, which is clearly signposted. This entrance is step-free and accessible for strollers, but please note that while the park and ground floor are accessible, the upper floors of the château are only reachable by stairs and are not wheelchair accessible. Assistance is available at the ticket desk for visitors with limited mobility.
Regular Hours: Château d'Azay-le-Rideau is open daily except January 1, May 1, and December 25. From April 1 to September 30, hours are 10:00am to 6:30pm. From October 1 to March 31, hours are 10:00am to 5:15pm.
Last Entry: Final admission is 45 minutes before closing time.
Special Hours/Closures: The château is closed on January 1, May 1, and December 25. During special events or evening shows (mainly in summer), extended hours may apply—check the official website for updates. Some rooms or features (such as the chapel) may be closed for restoration or events.
Audio guides are available in five languages for a small fee. Junior versions are available for children aged 6–12. Last rental is 1.5 hours before closing.
