Before going to Auschwitz, I had a picture in my head shaped by books, films, and documentaries. But being there in person is something entirely different. Seeing the vast scale of the place, walking through the barracks and open fields, it’s breathtaking and overwhelming. Every corner carries the weight of history. I was deeply moved by the personal belongings on display: suitcases, shoes, photographs. It’s impossible not to be affected. This is not a tourist visit; it’s a human experience that shakes you to your core. I left changed, more aware, more humble, more grateful. Auschwitz cannot be understood through words; it has to be felt. I recommend visiting to anyone willing to face the past with respect and an open heart. It’s a necessary lesson in memory and humanity, reminding us of what must never be repeated. A place that hurts, but also transforms. Memory is the first step toward a better future.

*The driver messaged to say he was running late . *No mention of any food options. *Due to him being late we were rushed into Aushwitz. *was moved around the camps too quickly without stopping to read anything. *driver dropped us off at the wrong carpark at Birkenhau meaning we had to walk a long way, instead of where others were parked. * driver wouldn't drop us back where we were picked up. Note, the tour guide was very informative and what we did see was educational.
