Step into Time Tripper and journey beneath Lake Wakatipu into a black light theatre. As you descend two flights of stairs, you’ll spot famous diving ducks, slinky eels, and shimmering trout—but the real show begins once they get fed after your adventure! Once seated, a large screen lowers, and your time-travel pilot welcomes you. Before the big jump, experience the Māori legend of Lake Wakatipu, a tale of love and mystery.
A thrilling journey through time
Blast off in your time-travel jet, leaping 90 million years into the past. Explore a prehistoric Gondwanaland teeming with ancient sea creatures—including Murray, a mysterious underwater resident. Witness the Cretaceous meteor impact, the formation of New Zealand, and the rise of the Southern Alps. Hover inside a massive glacier carving out Lake Wakatipu before landing back in present-day Queenstown. The screen rises to reveal a thriving underwater world, where you’ll enjoy 15 minutes of mesmerizing wildlife viewing.
