Step into Kyoto’s living heritage with a hands-on matcha ceremony in a traditional machiya townhouse. This guided session lets you experience Japan’s tea culture up close — from preparing frothy matcha to tasting seasonal wagashi — all in a calm, authentic setting.
Getting started
Arrive at the machiya-style teahouse in the Gion or Kiyomizu area and check in with your instructor. Present your booking confirmation and get a brief introduction to the history and etiquette of Japan’s tea ceremony before entering the tatami-lined room.
