We had Andreas for our tour and he was fantastic! Spoke very clear English and he clearly knew everyone at the places we visited. He was able to answer all our questions and had great tips for finding good non-tourist businesses/food places in the city. Super knowledgeable and passionate. Loved the whole tour.

It was fascinating to be driven to an area that played such an important role in the early history of Rome. The catacombs were really interesting--and we stopped at so many important sites along the way and were able to learn about this unique corner of Rome's history.

We visited the Catacombs of St Callixtus, which total 20kms of tunnels on 4 levels. It was an amazing experience and very atmospheric. The bus driver was so much more than that. His knowledge of Rome was exemplary and he took us on a route that included seeing other sights of Rome, outside of the city itself, including the old city walls. The guide for the Catacombs was extremely knowledgeable and very interesting. All in all a great tour

First of all, the driver. Alexander (not sure if I spelt his name correctly). He is a hidden gem on his own! The mini tour before the actual tour was amazing. You can tell he loves his job and is very knowlegable! Tour was great, sadly couldn't take any photos but the experience itself is worth every penny. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Rome!

What to bring

Light layer: The catacombs stay around 15°C, so bring a light jacket.

Accessibility

Mobility limitations: This tour includes stairs and uneven paths and is not suitable for wheelchairs or visitors with mobility issues.

What’s not allowed

Photography and videography: You cannot take photos or videos inside the catacombs or crypts.

Additional information

Arrival time: Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and bus or golf cart boarding.

Catacombs visited: You visit St. Callixtus or Domitilla based on the day.

Catacomb closures: Domitilla is closed on Tuesdays and Callixtus is closed on Wednesdays.

Entry type: On most days you get priority entry at Callixtus, and on Wednesdays you get skip-the-line entry at Domitilla.

Dress code: Shoulders and knees must be covered inside religious sites.

Return from Capuchin Crypt: For Capuchin Crypt options, you must arrange your own transport back from the crypt.
