Absolutely EPIC day out! Booked last min coz my partner is a whale nerd and wow, did not disappoint. We got out on the water super quick, barely any wait. Crew were suuuper friendly, gave us blankets too coz it was windy as. Saw 3 whales close up—one literally rolled over right near the boat. Got soaked from the spray but honestly didn’t care. If you’re like me and get motion sick, take a tablet before coz it gets bumpy. Worth every cent.

Went with my sister and her kids, first time for all of us. Staff were chill and explained everything, even to the little ones. Saw dolphins before even seeing whales, which was a bonus. The water was a bit rough so we got a bit wet, but the skipper had spare jackets. Only thing, wish there were more snacks onboard (bring ur own next time lol). But yeah, seeing those whales up close is wild.

Pretty good outing overall. Left right on time, which I appreciate. The boat was smaller than I expected (in a good way, more intimate). Crew was pro but also funny, kept us entertained when the whales played hard to get. When they finally showed up, everyone was scrambling for pics. Heads up: can’t always get THAT close but still worth it.

If you’re thinking about it—just do it! Wasn’t sure what to expect but the whole thing felt so personal, not like one of those massive tourist boats. Our guide pointed out heaps of cool stuff, like seabirds and even a seal chilling on a buoy. But the whales, omg, jaw-dropping. Got lucky with perfect weather too. Best morning in ages.

Went with a group of friends. It was a bit chilly and the ocean was choppy, so we got splashed a lot (no regrets). At first we were worried we wouldn’t see anything, but after about 30 mins, suddenly whales everywhere! One even waved. Crew had good banter. Would’ve been nice if trip was 30 mins longer but still recommend.

What to bring

Wear a light fleece under your waterproof jacket (provided) so you can peel off layers once the sun’s up.

Wear non-slip, closed-toe shoes for on-deck stability.

Bring your sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), camera/binoculars, seasickness tablets, light snacks, and a valid photo ID.

Children under 3 years old are not permitted to participate in this experience.

This experience is restricted to a maximum of 20 guests.

Smoking is not permitted on the vessel.
