The performances were amazing. The musicians talked a little about each piece before playing it, creating a background story for each piece. There was a ten minute break in the middle of the concert to be able to buy drinks. The venue was very small and intimate, as if you are having a concert at your own home. It was an amazing experience. Thank you!

Très bonne performance des musiciens. Acoustique de la salle exceptionnelle. Accueil bof.

Walk through the rooms where Mozart created his masterpieces and complete your visit with a live concert in the atmospheric Sala Terrena.

Getting started

Begin your visit at Domgasse 5, just off St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Follow the entrance signs to Mozarthaus Vienna, where staff will assist with ticket validation and entry. After a brief check-in, you’ll be free to explore the museum’s three exhibition floors at your own pace before heading to the nearby Sala Terrena for your concert performance.

Inside Mozart's former home

Step into the very rooms where Mozart composed some of his greatest works, and explore exhibits featuring his original manuscripts, personal letters, and intimate mementos. Highlights include rare items such as the manuscript of The Magic Flute, which takes you behind the scenes of one of his most iconic operas. Every corner of the museum offers a deeper look into the life of the prodigy who changed the course of classical music forever.

A concert in the Sala Terrena

After exploring Mozart’s history, continue your experience with a live performance by the Wiener Ensemble in the magnificent Sala Terrena, a fresco-lined chamber known for its exceptional acoustics. Surrounded by 17th-century artistry, you’ll hear timeless compositions including Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Piano Concerto No. 21, and selections from The Magic Flute, alongside works by Haydn and other great masters.

A complete cultural experience

From the historic treasures of the Mozarthaus Vienna to the mesmerizing live concert, you’re treated to an unforgettable journey through one of classical music's most celebrated legacies. Perfect for music lovers and history enthusiasts alike, this experience encapsulates the very essence of Vienna’s classical grandeur.

What to bring

Carry a light jacket or shawl. The Sala Terrena is a historic hall, and temperatures can feel cool in the evening, especially between September and February.

Keep a small notebook or use your phone or recorder to note interesting details or insights from the exhibition.

What’s not allowed

Check large bags, suitcases, or bulky items at the cloakroom before entering. Only small handbags or daypacks may be brought inside.

Flash photography is strictly prohibited throughout the museum and the concert hall.

Tripods, selfie sticks, and professional recording devices are not permitted.

Food and drinks are not allowed in either the exhibition rooms or the concert area. Any snacks or bottled water should be left with the reception or stored outside.

During the concert, silence your mobile phones and refrain from filming or recording the musicians.

Accessibility

The Mozarthaus Museum is fully wheelchair accessible, with a ramped entrance, wide doors, and an elevator connecting all public floors.

A wheelchair-accessible restroom is available on the basement level.

Service animals are welcome in all museum spaces.

The Sala Terrena is located within the same complex and can be accessed via a few steps. Inform the staff in advance if you require assistance so they can help you with entry and seating arrangements.

Additional information

Arrive at least an hour before the concert to visit the museum, collect your tickets, and settle in comfortably.

For a more relaxed visit, plan your museum tour between Tuesday and Thursday mornings, when it’s quieter. Mondays, weekends, and late afternoons tend to attract school groups and tour buses.

Most guests start on the first floor, but we recommend beginning your visit on the third floor with the themed exhibits and working your way down to the second-floor Mozart apartment to avoid crowding near the original rooms.

Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.

Display the voucher on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID at the starting point.

Please check your final voucher for the starting point details & specific instructions.
