Landing in Africa for my first time, I owe a lot to the folks who set up my trip. Everything clicked into place right from the airport pickup, thanks to their detailed planning. Our guide, Anthony Mwai, was top-notch—he made sure our group’s needs came first, he even waited patiently while we sorted out our eSIMs, which took forever outside the airport. We mentioned we really wanted to spot lions, leopards, and cheetahs, and luck was on our side in Maasai Mara—we saw them all! I’m sure that was partly because Anthony knew all the right spots. Honestly, meeting such a vibrant and knowledgeable guide made my first journey to Africa absolutely unforgettable. I’d say go for a safari with them—highly recommend!

Landing in Africa for the first time, I really appreciated having everything sorted from the get-go, like airport transportation and our whole agenda. I want to thank the team for making this trip so smooth. We even had some tech hiccups with our SIM cards when we arrived, but our guide was patient and let us sort out our phones, which took forever outside the airport. We were hoping to see the big cats—lions, leopards, cheetahs—and luck was really on our side in Maasai Mara! Having someone so energetic and skilled as our guide made a big difference, and it totally shaped this trip into an amazing memory. Would absolutely say this safari is worth doing if you get the chance.

We had a blast with Meektrails Safaris! Four of us did a private trip to the Masai Mara, and the whole thing was just super well put together. Peris helped us out with the planning from the get-go and really listened to what we wanted, so our whole itinerary felt more personal. Robie, who drove us and guided us, was a total legend—relaxed and happy to go along with whatever we asked, and he really knew his way around the Mara. We got up close to so many animals and could stick around for photos as long as we liked. Having a 4x4 to ourselves made the game drives even better. The walking tour at Lake Naivasha was a highlight for sure—so different to be on foot and so close to wildlife. Plus, the hats and water bottles they gave us were a sweet surprise. Couldn’t recommend them more—thanks to Peris for organizing, and Robie for making it a trip to remember!

What stood out most for me was how easy the logistics were—Esther was always quick to help out, whether I had a question before the trip or something popped up while we were traveling. With four of us, including my mother-in-law who needed some extra care moving around, it was a relief not to stress. Ben, our guide, did a great job making sure everyone was included, listened to what we wanted, and found animals we'd never have noticed on our own. He really knew a ton about the wildlife and Kenyan life, too. I appreciated how we could go at our own pace, and he checked in that we were comfortable all the time. The parks we got to visit were all different from each other, and wherever we stayed really felt like it fit the trip. Food, service, all of it was spot on. I’d recommend this experience for sure—and would do it again myself.

Our private Masai Mara safari as a group of four friends couldn’t have gone better, everything was so well set up before we even arrived. Peris helped plan it to fit what we wanted and paid attention to all the little details, which felt really personal. Robie drove us everywhere and honestly made the experience—he was easy to hang out with and knew just how to get us close to the animals for awesome photos, plus he never made us feel rushed if we wanted to stay longer. Having our own 4x4 was a game changer, we could spread out and go at our own pace. The walking safari at Lake Naivasha was also a highlight, really different from being in the car and we got super close to the animals. The hats and water bottles were a cool surprise too. All in all, a great trip and can’t thank Peris and Robie enough for making it so memorable!

What to expect

Masai Mara National Reserve

Spend your safari exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve on private game drives. The reserve covers 1,510 sq km of open savannah and is home to diverse wildlife, including lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and more. If you travel between July and October, you may also be in the reserve during the Great Migration season, although wildlife sightings and crossings are never guaranteed.

Game drives

Set out on game drives across the Masai Mara National Reserve, searching for wildlife across its open grasslands and other habitats.

Look out for elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, hippos, hyenas, leopards, black rhinos, and wild dogs during your drives.

Your safari is private, giving you dedicated time to explore the reserve at a pace suited to your group.

Game drives are conducted as part of your 3-day private fly-in safari, with your accommodation and other safari arrangements organized as part of the package.

Luxury accommodation

Your 2-night stay is at a luxury camp or lodge in the Masai Mara, with the exact property subject to availability.

Stay at one of the listed luxury camps or lodges for 2 nights during your safari.

Your accommodation forms the base for your game drives and other included safari activities.

If your preferred accommodation is unavailable, a suitable alternative of the same category may be provided, subject to availability.

Meals and drinks

Your safari includes most meals and drinks, with some meals excluded on the first and final days.

Meals during the safari are included, except breakfast on Day 1 and dinner on Day 3.

Drinking water is included during your stay.

Dietary preferences can be catered for, so share your requirements when booking or before your safari.

Flights and transfers

Your flights and airport transfers are included to keep the journey between Nairobi and the Masai Mara hassle-free.
