Stepping off the elevator onto the 8th floor, you'll be greeted with views of High Line Park. As you descend through the Whitney, Edward Hopper's New York unfolds chronologically through sketches and illustrations. Descend through the museum, and each floor unveils a different facet of contemporary art. Video installations might immerse you in another world, while the sculptures demand your attention. The Whitney Biennial is a smorgasbord of artistic expression, featuring artists from marginalized communities who explore what art means in the 21st century. The museum's permanent collection offers a respite, where you can encounter works by American masters. Keep an eye out for a Georgia O'Keeffe flower or a Jackson Pollock drip painting.
