Lets get the good things out in the open. Tickets worked perfectly and the BEST time to go is before the hordes are taken through in waves by flag waving guides. The building is futistic and modern but the staircase is pretty inaccessible to the infirm and many of the statues are not named. There is plenty of space around each exhibit. The boat reconstruction was probably the most interesting. And the bad.... well, terrible signage with far too many assumptions. There is no clear flow of time and little or no information on how, when or where exhibits were found. The moving staircase is horrid with sudden change to elevation, particularly on down sections. The shop is poor value with ghastly, tacky souvenirs and overpriced books Would I visit again? Yes, again first thing. Would I engage a guide? No. Totally unnecessary for anyone with an interest in history. Save your money for a guide to the Pyramids and choose as small a group as possible

I was captivated by the splendor of the Tutankhamun exhibit; each individual item was presented in a way that made it easy to imagine what life was like in ancient times, which was excellent. The video presentations between the display areas were also impressive. As a Japanese visitor, I was particularly pleased to find the explanatory text provided in Japanese.

The museum is beautiful huge 2 hours are not even enough, must be flagged that a tour guide is a must because other than that people would just wander around losing time and effort, it could take up to 4 hours, tot ankh amon's room is beautiful unreal.

Skip-the- Line-Tickets are the way to go. We turned up 15min early and simply joined the entry line, showed our QR code and we were in this avoiding the large line at the ticket office.
