What a fantastic experience! We went on the night hovercraft tour. Our captain Jack was amazing. He really worked hard to find all the alligators and we saw four. He had great knowledge about the gators and the area. We were far out and the stars were stunning. Do bring bug spray and cover up though. The gift shop had decent prices and loads of stuff to buy. The next day we checked out the land part. It was super quiet and we had Nick all to ourselves. He was incredible and took plenty of time to share facts and interesting stories. We met Cannibal and his 'wife' Crystal and their baby, even got to pet little smiling Dr. Pepper. I highly recommend this magical little spot.

I've taken visiting family to various airboat companies for many years, and this one is by far the most enjoyable. Friendly staff greets you at a big gift shop, all instructions are clearly laid out, and the boat rides are on time, lasting about an hour. We saw 3 gators and loads of birds. More alligators can be seen at the animal enclosure along with turtles and snakes, and there are several petting opportunities throughout the day. We wrapped up our perfect visit by sitting outside at the Gator grill, enjoying delicious grilled gator bites. By the way, we learned that the gator meat comes from a farm in Louisiana. Clean restrooms are available near the gift shop.

We had an awesome time on our Everglades trip! Sawgrass Recreation Park is a great spot to see gators in their natural habitat for a good price. Our guide, Captain Andrew, was exceptional! He was really knowledgeable and hilarious! We got to see 4 gators up close which was super cool. I’d totally recommend his boat any day!! The land exhibit was excellent. They’re a nonprofit that rescues injured or unwanted reptiles. The workers were all super friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to answer all our questions. We even got to pet a python and a baby gator. I’d highly suggest this park for a half-day trip

We had a fantastic time! The ride was surprisingly smooth and peaceful, even with the roar of the engine behind us (They gave us earplugs). It was beautiful and calm floating over and through the grassy "river." Captain Jack took great care of us and gave us a wonderful lesson on the grasslands ecosystem. Fun and informative, he ensured we had a blast. We did finally find a gator and followed him for a bit, but even if we hadn’t seen one, it would’ve been a fun time. My only "complaint" would be that we had such a good time, we left without checking out their animal exhibits (The staff should make a bigger deal about telling folks so they don’t miss it, it’s really cool to see). My girls were originally most excited to see and hold the "baby alligators." Luckily, we remembered a few miles down the road and turned around to go back. So glad we did! Nick spent loads of time with us and taught us so much about alligators and crocodiles that we never knew. We saw more gators, snakes, and lizards, and we all got to hold Pickles the alligator. It was a highlight of our day. Thanks, Jack, Nick, and Sawgrass!

Had a really fun time with the family! We spotted a couple of gators during our boat ride. The noise can get pretty loud, but they do hand out foam ear plugs. If you're sensitive to sound or have young kids, you might want to bring your own noise-cancelling headphones. The gift shop is awesome and the prices are super affordable. The interactive area is cool, my kids got to touch and snap a pic with a young gator. The staff is fantastic, super friendly and knowledgeable. Big shoutout to our funny captain, Josh!

Accessibility

People with mobility issues can board the airboat, but airboats are not wheelchair-accessible. Clerks at the Park do provide assistance provided in case required.

All the animal exhibits at the Park are wheelchair-accessible, and there are wheelchairs available at no cost.

Service animals are allowed in the Park but at your own risk. They are not allowed on the airboat.

Additional information

Life jackets are required to be worn on the airboat for children aged 6 and under.

Children aged 3 and under can participate in the airboat tour for free.

Pregnant women can board the airboat, but they are recommended to get a consultation from their doctor before the experience.

Book your private airboat tour at least a week in advance because they tend to get reserved fast.
