We loved this informative tour! Our guide was super-knowledgeable and took us straight to the chapel at Melk, advised us on the best things to see in Hallstatt and told us lots of very interesting things along the way. In Salzburg we had a different guide with a very dry sense of humour, which we enjoyed. She gave us a very good overview of what to see in Salzburg, so we could explore on our own later. We could also leave the tour in Salzburg and stay longer, which was perfect for us! I highly recommend this tour. Even though the weather was very foggy and we couldn't see much from the bus, it was very enjoyable and entertaining!

We recently went on the Hallstatt–Salzburg–Melk tour and it was a truly memorable experience. We booked the tour through Headsout and the overall organisation was smooth and well managed from start to finish. We were given enough time at each location to enjoy the scenery without feeling rushed, which made the trip very relaxed and enjoyable. The landscapes, especially around Hallstatt were absolutely stunning in winter, with snow-covered mountains and a very peaceful atmosphere. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the journey, explaining the history and sharing interesting facts along the way. In Salzburg, we were accompanied by a local guide who walked me through the city and highlighted the key attractions, which added a lot of value to the visit. Overall, everything was well planned, comfortable and enjoyable. Austria in winter is simply magical, and this tour was a perfect way to experience its beauty.

Although hidden between a lake and the mountainside, the little town of Hallstatt is nothing short of charming. Its narrow lanes and wooden building give it a very unique and picturesque look. Learn about the 7000-year history of this town from a live tour guide as you walk through its nooks and corners.

Boat tour

After your walking tour, step onto an elegant boat where you can admire Hallstatt from a different angle. After the boat ride, you can grab some lunch and then take your time exploring the rest of this iconic city.

Bring comfortable walking shoes, as the tour includes walking on uneven surfaces and cobblestone streets.

Carry weather-appropriate clothing, as conditions can change quickly in the mountains.

Don’t forget your camera to capture the scenic views.

By tram: Take trams #1, #2, #71, D, or U2Z to the Oper, Karlsplatz U station. From there, it is a 1-min walk to the meeting point.

By metro: Take line U1 or U4 to the Karlsplatz subway station. From there, it is a 2-min walk to the meeting point.
