Hobbiton is a wonderful destination. The local guide did a great job describing the set. Transportation to the site was terrific: comfortable minibus, courteous driver. I would have rated it 5 stars, except for the disconnect between the booking agent and the operator. My confirmation said I'd be picked up at my address in Mission Bay; the email from the operator said they only do pickup in CBD, at Sky Tower. I had to get up extra early and take an Uber because the buses were not running yet, which cost over $30 more.

Tres bon moments passé sur place, guide très bien et chauffeur super sympa . Très bon déjeuner sur place . Petit bémol, headout vous envois un code de réduction de -5% , pour vous incitez a réservé mes ce code de réduction ne marche pas et une fois que vous avez réservé vous recevez un autre code de réduction pour votre prochain achat. J aurais préféré que le premier bon de réduction marche car je ne compte pas acheter de nouveau quoi que ce soit.

The concept and set up of these tours is awesome. Not only that, but the driver was great, I had a very rough start to my day and he checked in on me numerous times as I was a solo tourist. Felt extremely looked after. 🥰

Our trip to Hobbiton was incredible from start to finish :) The driver and guide from Auckland and Beyond, Simon, was very knowledgeable and entertaining as he shared some very interesting stories about New Zealand during the drive there and back. We really learned a lot :) The car itself was comfortable and was small enough with only 10 total passengers, including ourselves. When we arrived, Simon organised the tickets for us at The Shire's Rest so we could focus on visiting the gift shop and taking photos. The tour itself was out of this world, and much more extensive and with so much more care and attention to detail than expected or hoped for. We really recommend it as essential visiting for any LotR fans especially, though the whole area is just beautiful and interesting in itself. Overall, it was an experience we will never forget! It was amazing to go there and back again ;)

Welcome to the Shire

If you are a Lord of the Rings fan, then visiting the Hobbiton movie set is a must. Hop on your comfortable ride from Auckland and journey to the magical world of Hobbiton. On the way, spot the lush trees dotting the Waikato river and the Kaimai Ranges standing tall. Once you reach, you will get on a short bus with your Hobbiton guide and be taken to the set.

A magical world awaits you

Once you reach the set, your guide will escort you on a shared walking tour around the movie set. See the beautiful gardens, and the 44 Hobbit holes lining the hillside before arriving at Bagshot Row to peek inside the humble home of a Hobbit. As you tour the set, listen to your guide tell you interesting details about how the set was made and show you famous locations used in the movies. End your tour at the Green Dragon Inn where you will enjoy a complimentary beverage from their Southfarthing Range, exclusively made on the set.

Choose between a shared tour with a banquet lunch or a private tour of the movie set to make your Hobbiton experience more memorable.
