Gece Nöbeti Projesi beni asıl görmeye geldiğim tablodan alıkoysa da, bazı ustaları tekrar ziyaret ederek ve onlardan bir şeyler öğrenerek harika bir öğleden sonra geçirdim. Whistler'ın gri ve sarı renklerdeki düzenlemesinin beni bu kadar etkilemesine gerçekten hazırlıklı değildim. Vermeer'ler ve Rembrandt'ların önüne geldiğimde böylesine bir sevinç patlaması yaşamayı da beklemiyordum. Orta salonlardaki ve merdivenlerdeki akustik korkunçtu, ancak büyülü kütüphanede sessiz bir an geçirdiğimde bunu aştım.
