Britannicus, set in modern-day Rome, is a new play that shows the gripping portrayal of a dictator's climb to power.
A tale of moral conscience, love and the want to rise in power, Britannicus tells the story of a mother obsessed with retaining power, both over her son and the empire. Agrippina wants her son, Nero, to take the seat of the Roman Emperor after Britannicus takes the throne. Nero obeys everything his mother says, but after he falls in love with Britannicus's fiancée Junia, he is driven more by his love for her and less by the want to succeed to the throne.
