Jerónimos Monastery
At the Jerónimos Monastery discover the nuance of Portugal architecture, its beauty shining through from the entrances to the corridors of the structure. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Monastery narrates tales from medieval history and was built by King Manuel I. Once you are there, notice the connection of the building to Belém Tower, built by the same king. The cloisters are two leveled and it is said that it took 100 years to create this fine, intricate style. Mythical creatures like gargoyles and marine animals can be found in the detailing of the architecture. Don’t miss out on the intricacies of different architectural styles including Gothic, Moorish, and Renaissance.
Navy Planetarium
Experience a minute part of the life of an astronaut at the Navy Planetarium. Find out exciting details about space, stars, their formation, and their long history. See various details come to life with tales and emotions. The gallery, which hosts a number of themed exhibitions, is also accessible as part of the ticket. Attend a number of seminars to help you experience life as an astronaut.
