Guiden (Ivan) är en erfaren arkeolog som har arbetat i flera år på Paestum-platsen och utfört utgrävningar för universitetet i Salerno. Han förklarade många saker som en vanlig guide inte skulle ta upp under besöket och fick oss att bli passionerade av Paestum och dess historia.

Constructed in the 6th century, the Doric temples remain immaculate to this day due to the abandonment of the malaria-prone site until 1968, when it was discovered. Next to one of the temples, you will see an amphitheater, which was one of the earliest to be ever built back in 50 BC.
