Guiden gav insiktsfulla kommentarer om historia, konst och konstnärer när vi besökte olika gallerier inom museet. Hennes kommentarer på engelska var mycket förståeliga och lätta att höra med de viskande headset som vår grupp bar under den 90 minuter långa turen. Vår guide svarade gärna på frågor under turen. Genom att vara med på rundturen när museet öppnade kl. 10.00 kunde vi undvika den långa kön till inträdet. Mötesplatsen för början av turen var lätt att hitta.

Trots att jag hade bokat turen på engelska var den faktiska turen på engelska spanska språket. Det var den enda défaut! Biljettreservationen var väldigt enkel och vår guide Miguel snäll och kunnig om museet, han gav oss mycket användbar information och gjorde turnén mycket intressant. Sammantaget var det en mycket bra upplevelse!

Vi började på Tysenn. Allt gick mycket smidigt, ackreditering och inträde. Så var det inte i Pardo (det andra besöket) där det var huvudkö och en andra kortare kö (20 minuters väntetid) för att ackreditera QR-koden. På Reina Sofia hade vi äntligen en andra kortare kö, men eftersom det var färre besökare var det bara ett par minuters väntan.

The Museo del Prado is a site of huge national and global importance. Occupying an 18th-century neoclassical building, the museum is home to over 20,000 works of art. Including 7,500 paintings, 8,000 drawings, 4,800 prints, and 1,000 sculptures and other artworks and historical documents.

Bypass the arduous ticketing queue and, after a brief security check, you are free to roam Prado's galleries. The exhibits on display are spread over 3 levels: basement, first, and second.

You can explore the museum's galleries for as long as you like. Some of the greats whose works adorn the walls are Francisco Goya, El Greco, Diego Velazquez, Hieronymus Bosch, Peter Paul Rubens, and Titian. Download an app and get a complete overview of Western art and 24 key art pieces.

Admission is free from Mon to Sat: 6pm to 8pm, and Sun & holidays: 5pm to 7pm.
