Belém Tower
The Belem Tower is an enduring symbol of Portugal's rich history, culture, and heritage. Originally named the 'Tower of Saint Vincent' in honor of Lisbon's patron saint, this 16th-century fortification graces the banks of the River Tagus. Its limestone structure and distinctive Manueline architecture, characterized by intricate details such as twisted ropes, armillary spheres, and Gothic motifs, make it a remarkable landmark. Comprising four stories, including the Governor's Room, Kings' Room, Audience Room, and vaulted chapel, the tower offers a glimpse into Portugal's past and architectural prowess.
