Mini van with 5 pax was the perfect group size. Our guide George was very informative on the sights as we drove to Douro with a surprise stop in Amarante a small historic village. Both wineries we visited were fabulous. Our scrumptious lunch with quality wine at the 1st non mass producer that is also a hotel was definitely the highlight along with informative winery tour and tastings. The views were absolutely incredible. Pinhao boat ride was nice and informative. So glad I took the premium tour as it was exactly what I expected and delivered 100%. A step up from the masses. Bonus was hotel pick up and stop off. You must choose this tour to make it the highlight of your Porto visit as it was mine.

Teresa Oserio was our guide for the day and made the trip for us. Born in the region and a truly knowledgeable wine fan, she provided an exceptional tour and great insight. The stops, lunch, and wine tours were stellar. Our river cruise was perfect at 45 minutes, letting us see the region from the water without a long boat ride. Four stars is only a reflection of the way the company sets up the tours. Although we paid for the lower number 6-person tour, you are partnered with another group of 8 or more at each stop. Our van only had six of us but I feel you lost some of the intimacy at the wineries we were hoping for. Overall, great experience. I would highly recommend.

I recently went on the wine tour in the Douro Valley and it was an unforgettable experience. The tour started in the charming town of Amarante. From there, we visited two different wineries and tried a total of six different wines. One of the highlights of the tour was the lunch at the second winery. The food was exceptional and the wine pairing was spot on. We got to taste some of the local specialties and it was a real treat to try the dishes that were perfectly paired with the wines. The tour was well-organized and our guides were fantastic. It was a truly immersive experience that left me with a newfound appreciation for Portuguese wine and culture.

First off this is the tour you want. Our Guide Nuno has a degree in history and we learned lots about Portugal, the Douro and the land. He took us to two great wineries, both very different but great in their own ways. One was a big producer, but was doing everything ecologically. The second was a very small woman run winery with very unique wines. The lunch was incredible. Cooked over wood fires in a hundreds year old kitchen. Served with their own wines made on site. Fun, wonderful family run place. We spent so much time at the lunch that our boat tour had to be shorter. But that was fine as the weather was a bit rainy. I would highly recommend this tour as the guides were incredible and due to the small size of the group we were able to go to very small vineyards. Also they chose family run places where you get the feel of being part of the family.

We are a family of four with two kids 11 and 14. We were very lucky to have Luis as our tour guide. He was without a doubt the best guide we have had in years of travel. He took us to the places listed but also showed us some spots that we would never have found on our own. It was a very enjoyable day and I strongly recommend doing it! He kept the kids entertained and was very knowledgeable about the area and Portugal in general. I will definitely book another tour with him when we return to Porto!!
