As you descend through the Whitney, Edward Hopper's New York unfolds chronologically through sketches and illustrations. Descend through the museum, and each floor unveils a different facet of contemporary art. Video installations might immerse you in another world, while the sculptures demand your attention. The Whitney Biennial is a smorgasbord of artistic expression, featuring artists from marginalized communities who explore what art means in the 21st century. The museum's permanent collection offers a respite, where you can encounter works by American masters. Keep an eye out for a Georgia O'Keeffe flower or a Jackson Pollock drip painting.
