Camera de zăpadă a fost un adevărat punct de atracție și mi s-a părut surprinzător de autentică. Amenajarea generală și povestea sunt foarte bine realizate și mențin experiența captivantă, fără a părea exagerată. Plimbarea cu Hägglunds a fost foarte distractivă, oferind în același timp o idee bună despre cât de dificilă poate fi logistica în Antarctica. Personalul a fost incredibil de prietenos, bine informat și bucuros să împărtășească cunoștințele sale.

★★★★★ From the USA and completely blown away — the closest I may ever get to Antarctica! My visit to the Christchurch International Antarctic Centre was absolutely unforgettable. I’m a big traveller from the United States, and on this trip to New Zealand I realized I’ve now visited every continent except Antarctica. Because I suffer from severe motion-induced vertigo, crossing the famously rough Southern Ocean is probably not in the cards for me — so I never expected to feel like I’d truly experienced Antarctica. And yet… here I was. This Centre felt like the next best thing — almost like being there. The exhibits are immersive, fascinating, and beautifully designed. One thing I really appreciated is that you can move at your own pace: spend as much or as little time at each area as you want. It never felt rushed, overwhelming, or overly “touristy” — just engaging and genuinely interesting. The 4D Antarctic experience was fun, informative, and full of surprises, and the Antarctic Storm Room was an absolute highlight. Feeling the power of a simulated Antarctic blizzard was thrilling — and the fact that the Centre provides proper jackets made it easy to fully embrace the experience. I loved learning about the Little Blue Penguins (Kororā) and the huskies too. I also can’t say enough about the staff. The team at the Centre was incredibly helpful and kind. I was unsure about the Hägglund all-terrain vehicle ride, and they took the time to explain exactly what it involved so I could make an informed decision — no pressure at all. That kind of care makes a huge difference. They were also fantastic with my luggage: I was on my way to the airport but far too early to check my bags, and they happily stored everything in a secure, locked room. Seamless and stress-free. And then there was the gift shop — which I fully expected to breeze through… and absolutely did not. I ended up buying some fun Kiwi and Antarctic souvenirs that I never planned on, and I’m so glad I did. This experience exceeded my expectations in every possible way. If you’ve ever dreamed of Antarctica — or suspect you may never actually make it there — this Centre is an absolute must-do.

Ne-au plăcut foarte mult filmele și informațiile pe care le-au împărtășit. Toți tinerii angajați au fost mai mult decât prietenoși și primitori și foarte implicați.

Este o experiență excelentă pentru persoanele de toate vârstele, deci foarte recomandată pentru familii. Cele mai importante au fost (în ordinea preferințelor noastre): huskies, plimbare hagglund, experiența furtunii și cinematograful 4D. A fost foarte distractiv și nu este departe de aeroport, deci poate fi o activitate de făcut dacă aveți ore de omorât înainte de zbor. Un mic sfat care ar putea face ziua cuiva mai frumoasă: încercați să fiți printre primii la coadă pentru plimbarea cu hagglund, deoarece s-ar putea să vi se ofere să mergeți în partea din față a vehiculului, unde puteți vedea perfect pista (nu în lateral, dacă sunteți în spate). Restul expoziției este foarte informativ dacă vă plac natura și istoria.
