When in Taiwan, visits to the National Palace Museums of Taipei and its southern branch in Chiayi are pertinent. Gasp at the treasures of cultural relics that go back to about 5,000 years. Explore the treasures of the three major town halls, the Music Stone, the Kiyuyu Cabbage, and the Mao Gongding.
The Chiayi National Palace Museum boasts collections of Buddhist scriptures, porcelain, and stunning calligraphy and paintings. Roam about the museums’ recreational centers and soak up the beauty of its tropical gardens, the waterfront stage, and the artificial wetlands.
