Vår tur til Athen var helt fantastisk. Den eneste grunnen til at jeg ikke har gitt toppkarakter var den usammenhengende tilretteleggingen for funksjonshemmede. Avstanden mellom taxiholdeplassene og vognene til heisen var for lang til at noen med gangproblemer kunne komme seg dit, og selv om man hadde tilgang til rullestol, var det opp en bratt bakke på vakker, glatt marmor. Tilgangen for funksjonshemmede til det fantastiske arkeologiske nasjonalmuseet var igjen vanskelig mellom taxi og dør. Jeg må si at alle vi kom i kontakt med var hyggelige og hjelpsomme.Susan

Vi kom til den tidlige åpningen for 9am og var i stand til å gå inn fra 8:45 så glad vi gjorde dette som da vi var klare til å gjøre vår vei ned de var masse folk på vei opp. Så glad for at vi tok turen for å gå rundt og se hva som gikk foran oss.

Bestilte en tidlig tid kl. 09.00, og det var fint å komme dit før folkemengdene, uten kø. Det var kjølig nok til å nyte severdighetene selv om det var en solrik dag. Det ble travelt da vi dro da busser ankom. Mye lettere under føttene enn da jeg sist besøkte for over 40 år siden.

Vi brukte bussen den første dagen til en generell omvisning, og den andre dagen dro vi til Akropolis, og dro tilbake for å besøke hovedattraksjonene. Veldig bra alternativ

Acropolis & Parthenon
The Acropolis is a stunning Athenian temple complex located on a rocky outcrop above the city. Stop by the ruins of legendary structures like the Propylaea, the entrance to the ancient temple of Parthenon. With your audio guide in 3 languages, wander across the once-sacred halls of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion. The Odeon of Herodes Atticus will leave you in awe. This large amphitheater was built in AD 161 by wealthy Roman Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife Regilla and is still used today for music festivals.
