Since the last fire in 2019, restoration efforts have been underway, with care taken to preserve as much of the original design as possible. The Shuri Castle Ruins hold much of the country’s historical significance, evident in its harmonious blend of Chinese and Japanese building techniques.

The facility will remain closed for inspections on the first Wednesday of July and the following Thursday.
Visitors who buy Child and Student tickets should present their student IDs before entering.
Children under the age of five can enter for free.
