Grand staircases, rich tapestries and a huge armory of historical weapons - the Royal Palace of Turin has all this in store and more. Enjoy priority access to this incredible mansion and explore its fascinating history at your own pace. By the end of your tour, you will leave awestruck by the sheer wealth of the royal family.

Built as the historic palace of the House of Savoy, the mansion features several apartments that overlook the gardens and the piazza. Stroll through their passages and admire the works of art collected from around the world. The intricately built staircases will wow you, as well as the glittering chandeliers and the painted frescoes on high ceilings.

One key highlight during your visit will be the Royal Armoury. Find here suits of armor from the 16th and 17th centuries lined against the halls, along with advanced weaponry from the era. There is also the Chapel of the Holy Shroud that was only reopened in 2018 after a lengthy restoration, following a fire in 1997. Don't miss out on visiting the Royal Library, too. It is home to a collection of more than 200,000 books, engravings and drawings, including a famous self-portrait by Leonardo Da Vinci!

Getting There

By Bus

  • The closest bus stop is ‘Fermata 245 - GARIBALDI,’ which is located 5 minutes from the palace. Catch bus #11, 19, 27 or 92 to get here

By Train

  • The closest railway station is Porta Nuova, which is located 15 minutes away from the meeting point. From the train station pass through Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and proceed on Via Roma, up to Piazza Castello

  • There is also the Porta Susa Railway Station (20 minutes by walk). From the train station, take Via Cernaia and proceed on Via Pietro Micca up to Piazza Castello

By Car

  • From the motorway exit or from the orbital road follow the road signs to the city centre

  • Royal Museums are located in a central restricted traffic area, cars are not allowed to transit in Via XX Settembre and Via Pietro Micca: these areas are reserved to public transport services

  • Transit is prohibited in Via Po, Piazza Castello and Viale dei Partigiani from 7:30 AM to 10.30 AM

  • Corso Regina Margherita and Corso San Maurizio are free access areas
