Ik boekte deze ervaring voor mijn kleinzonen die er heel graag op wilden. Het boekingsproces was heel gemakkelijk en de bemanning was vriendelijk en behulpzaam waardoor het voor iedereen aan boord een leuke ervaring was. Ze vonden het geweldig en raadden aan om het een keer te proberen als ze op bezoek komen.

Genoten van de treinreis. Het platteland. Het dorpje Amamour is klein, maar we hebben genoten van de koffie en cake die we in het café hebben gegeten. En de sfeer die kleine dorpjes geven.

Veel mensen aan boord. De vrijwilligers waren uitstekend en vriendelijk. Jeff in ons rijtuig was 5 sterren en John in het rijtuig ernaast gaf de hele trein prachtig commentaar. Bij Amamoor was de green opgezet met kraampjes en eten om ons te verwelkomen. Het landschap was niet geweldig, maar toch een leuk uitje.

De reis die ik met drie andere volwassenen maakte was goed, maar we vonden allemaal dat de gidsen onbeleefd, neerbuigend en officieus waren. Ik begrijp dat het vrijwilligers zijn, maar dat is geen excuus voor regelrechte onbeschoftheid. Er zijn verschillende voorbeelden. Bv. enige tijd voordat de trein zou vertrekken, wilde ik uitstappen om naar het toilet te gaan. De dichtstbijzijnde open deur was in de volgende wagon en er waren een paar mensen die de gangpaden in mijn wagon vulden. De gids in de volgende wagon weigerde me 'zijn' deur te laten gebruiken - hij zei dat ik moest wachten tot ik via de deur van mijn wagon kon uitstappen. Diverse andere voorbeelden. Toen ik aan de andere kant van de trein instapte, zei een gids tegen me 'oh jij bent die vent die door de rijdende trein slentert om naar het toilet te gaan'. Ik zei beleefd 'ik denk dat u me met iemand anders verwart' - ik kwam helemaal niet van mijn plaats als de trein in beweging was. Hij draaide zich om naar de andere gids en zei met luide stem: "Voor mij zien ze er allemaal hetzelfde uit". Zoals ik al zei, zijn er verschillende andere voorbeelden van onaangenaam gedrag die de reis voor mijn groep hebben verpest. Ik ben bang dat deze gidsen wat beleefdheidstraining nodig hebben.
