Step aboard a minibus and enjoy a small-group tour to Entlebuch Valley, Switzerland's first UNESCO biosphere reserve. The journey takes you through unspoiled moorlands and idyllic pastures, towards the Kambly Experience. Here, see master confectioners at work and discover the origins of Switzerland's best-known premium biscuit brand. Sample the unique flavors and browse through the many varieties of biscuits. Continue onwards through typical Bernese backcountry towards the Swiss capital, Bern. Your guide will take you on a walk through the charming Old Town, a designated UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. See the late Gothic Cathedral (Münster), and the clock tower (Zytglogge). Admire the Parliament building that stands against the beautiful Aare River. Take a break and go souvenir shopping, or stop for lunch.
Later, continue through the rich rural landscape. Make a stop at the Emmentaler Show Dairy. This is where you will get to see the audio-visual "King's Way" and learn about the history of the world's most famous cheese. Inside the cellar, marvel at the gigantic wheels of cheese. You will even get to indulge in a cheese tasting session, only an arm's length away from the master cheesemaker's workplace! Next, head over to a nearby dairy farm and watch cows idly grazing on the green grass. These very cows produce the high-quality milk that is the main ingredient of the Emmentaler cheese. There will be a picture stop here, with an amazing view over the hills of the Emmental. On a clear day, you will be able to see the triple peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. At the end of the tour, drive back to Zürich with a goodie bag full of Swiss delicacies collected from the attractions visited throughout the day.
