  • Set Back into History at the Stutthof Nazi Concentration Camp

The first Nazi camp on Polish territory, the Stutthof Nazi Concentration Camp was initially established for civilians on September 2, 1939. It was later turned into a special labor camp and finally into a concentration camp. When German Nazis invaded Poland, massive arrests in Danzig occurred and nearly 1,500 people were arrested on day 1 itself. During the wartime, about 125,000 from 12 European nations were kept as prisoners here and 85,000 were also assassinated. The camp majorly served to massacre patriotic rebels from Gdańsk educational circles and Polish activists.

Travel from Warsaw in a car or a minibus and explore important spots like the partially preserved Old Camp, Death Gate, and gas chambers, where the war prisoners were held and killed. Also, the enormous museum is set up in over 20 hectares, where you can learn about the camp's history and the experiences of the prisoners who were held there. Also, the permanent exhibitions with documentary movies will provide glimpses of the past Nazi era.

Before you conclude your tour, make a quick stopover at a local restaurant for a lunch.
