    I honestly didn’t know what to expect from the midnight concert at Tromso Cathedral, but it completely BLEW me away! My partner and I arrived a bit too early (doors opened like 20 mins later than we thought) but got to stare at the cool wooden carvings in the candlelight. Once the music started, it just filled the whole place—felt like it buzzed in my chest. The folk singer did this one song that was soooo mesmerizing, I didn’t even notice I was shivering a bit (typical Norwegian winter, lol). Pro tip: bring an extra layer, pews are cold if you get stuck near the door. Couldn’t take photos during the show which was kinda annoying but honestly? Worth just soaking it in. Would totally bring my mom if she visits.

    Went solo after my friends bailed—best decision! The cathedral looks EPIC at night, and the sound… wow. The concert was shorter than I expected (like 45 mins?) but the mix of Sami & Norwegian music was super cool. Felt a bit crammed in the second row but everyone was quiet and respectful. Staff at the door were friendly, just wish there was a sign for the bathroom, haha.

    This was the most peaceful thing I’ve done in ages. We’d just come back from a northern lights tour and booked last min.     Took my teenage daughter to the midnight concert. She’s not usually into churchy stuff but even she admitted it was SPECIAL.     I went with friends from uni. Music was lovely, but the pews are kinda cramped if you’re tall (I’m 6’3). Some really beautiful traditional songs I’d never heard before. We tried to take pics but got told off gently by usher—oops. Still, left with a smile on my face.
