Experience the thrill of a tandem skydive over Victoria’s iconic Great Ocean Road, known for its dramatic coastline, Torquay Beach, and Bells Beach. Choose between 8,000 ft or 15,000 ft package for an unforgettable adventure.
Getting started
Arrive at Barwon Heads Airport, check in at the drop zone, complete your safety briefing, gear up, and meet your expert tandem instructor before getting on the aircraft.
What to expect
- The climb: Climb to 8,000 ft or 15,000 ft during a 20-minute scenic flight. Enjoy sweeping views of Torquay, Bells Beach, and the beautiful coastline below.
- The jump: Choose the 8,000 ft jump for a 20-second freefall or the 15,000 ft jump for a 60-second freefall, reaching speeds over 200 km/h. You’ll soar over the Great Ocean Road, taking in panoramic views of Barwon Heads, Torquay, Bells Beach, and Geelong.
- The descent: At 5,000 ft, your instructor will deploy the parachute, and you'll float peacefully for 5-7 minutes. Enjoy breathtaking views of limestone cliffs and the endless coastline.
- The touchdown: Land within 100m of the coastline, just a short skip from Torquay Beach, the start of the Great Ocean Road.
What to bring
- Carry your ID for a seamless experience.
- Wear closed shoes like trainers or running shoes to protect your feet from bumps or brushes against the airplane or ground.
What’s not allowed
- Use of electronic devices, including personal camera and video equipment is not permitted on the aircraft or at any time during the jump.
- Dentures and other loose items are not allowed on this experience. It is recommended to keep them with the staff or leave them in your accommodation.
- Guests must not consume alcohol or drugs within 8 hours prior and must not scuba dive within 24 hours of the scheduled skydive jump time.
- This experience is restricted for guests aged 16 and over and under 115 kg. Those over 105 kg will need extra assessment for safety and harness fit by a drop zone officer or a tandem instructor.
Accessibility
- This experience is not suitable for pregnant women and guests with epilepsy or cardiac issues.
- Guests with a dislocated shoulder can join the experience but must inform staff so an alternate freefall position can be arranged.
Additional information
- The meeting point is at Skydive Great Ocean Road in Barwon Heads Airport, roughly an hour away from Melbourne
- Guests under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian on jump day to sign the paperwork.
- Guests must complete an online check-in form including pre-registration with the Australian Parachute Federation (APF) before arriving at the drop zone.
- While the weight limit is 115kg, extra charges will apply for guests over 94kg. Guests between 94 – 104kg = +AUD $55, 105 – 114kg = +AUD $80, and 115kg and over = +AUD $105.
- You can add skydiving photos and videos to your package at an extra cost.
- Guests with spectacles or contact lenses will be provided with big goggles.
- Skydiving is a weather-dependent activity. Arrive with no time constraints. If the weather is unfavorable, your jump will be rescheduled to a date that best suits you.
