Getting started

Show your booking confirmation and ID at the Shark Dive Xtreme desk. Complete a short medical form (some guests may need clearance). Lockers and showers are available for your comfort. You can also buy up to four discounted spectator passes on-site so friends can watch and snap photos as you dive.

What to expect

The shark dive

Begin with a detailed safety briefing and scuba training to build confidence. Then, gear up and descend into Shark Valley for a 30-minute guided dive—no cage, just you and the sharks. Swim alongside grey nurse sharks, wobbegongs, and rays in small groups of up to four. Wrap up the experience with a commemorative certificate to take home.

What to bring

Bring your booking confirmation and a valid photo ID for check-in.

Pack a swimming costume/swimmers to wear under your wetsuit for the dive.

Enclosed footwear is required for safety and comfort during your visit.

A towel and toiletries are recommended if you plan to use the showers after your dive.

What’s not allowed

Prescription glasses can’t be worn during the dive; bring contact lenses if needed.

Personal cameras, GoPros, or recording devices are not permitted inside the tank.

Diving is not allowed if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited the night before your dive.

You cannot participate if you are unable to swim 200 meters or walk 1.6 kilometers without resting.

Flying within 12 hours after your dive is not permitted due to safety regulations.

Accessibility

The experience is open to guests aged 14 years and above; guests under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

All divers must complete a medical declaration; some conditions require certified dive doctor clearance.

The aquarium is wheelchair accessible, but the Shark Dive Xtreme experience may not be suitable for all mobility levels.

Additional information

Lockers and showers are available for your convenience before and after the dive.

Each dive session is limited to 4 participants for a personal and safe experience.

All-day admission to SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium is included with your dive ticket.

Spectators can watch from the viewing tunnel and receive 25% off admission (up to 4 per diver).

Medical clearance is required if you have certain health conditions or have had COVID-19 in the past 3 months.
