Perfectly timed departure of both the ferry/ boat and the island bus tour with the v knowledgeable and delightful Lisa! Give that lady a payrise immediately! Only helpful suggestion would be to tell people where to park all day at the Freemantle docks, just past Dock E, as we panicked a bit when we arrived and everywhere else was 3 hrs. Plus didn't realise needed a printed ticket if booking through a third party operator and had to run over to the Sealink info booth. Otherwise, brilliant service, amazing day with Quokkas!! 🥰 I didn't touch it!! Was just trying show perspective of how tiny it was. Just a lil bub

The tour guide Eli and bus driver Simon were fantastic! Very informative on the island itself and eager to answer questions! My favourite part was when Eli taught everyone about the history of the island and how to be more approachable to the quokkas by sitting down rather than crouching. My family and friends had a great time visiting one of the very very lovely beaches there, the water was so amazingly clear! Which Eli taught us why the water is so clear! I will be visiting more often and am shocked that I have never visited in my entire 25 years living in Perth! Thank you! We also saw SO MANY WHALES!

The sheer beauty of the island, especially the swim we had near the wreck of the shark on the south-eastern side. The hire bicycles, well they were the worst bike ride I have had in my nearly 70 years of life. They were small, unadjustable, cramped and seats were hard. Despite my complaints, they did get us around the island and didn't spoil the experience. Turning on a whale-watching experience during the return journey was the icing on the cake. Would I recommend this trip to family & friends? YES 10/10 Would I consider going again if I come back to Perth? YES.

One of the best things I have done. Easy booking process, the guides were helpful in helping me understand what to do, one point to note is there is a booth at the Fremantle B gate for the tour operator where you get your tickets from the voucher. Bike hire super easy, the route around the whole island is a little hilly, but I got round it all in the day with two hours to spare enough time to get some food

Fantastic guided tour! Brian the bus driver along with Eli the guide were a fab duo! Eli's expertise of the island and knowledge was second to none! Very informative and enjoyable. We even spotted all the amazing wildlife that there was to see. Highly recommend- Rottnest Island is truly beautiful!

What to bring

Bring along your swimwear, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, and water bottle.

What's not allowed

Carry-on items are allowed if they fit on your seat without taking extra space. For safety, luggage cannot block aisles, wheelchair spaces, or exits.

Alcohol, weapons, drugs, drones, pets, smoking and furniture are not allowed onboard the ferry.

Rottnest Island is an A-Class reserve. So, it’s best to check directly with the island rangers for the most up-to-date advice on service dog access and allowances.
