You have to be joking about the smooth entry! The signposting was non-existent, and several of the staff in the Power Station itself hadn't a clue where to send us (one didn't even know there was an exhibition of any sort). Having finally found it, though, in the adjacent building, we thought the display itself was excellent. The scene-setting film at the start was very helpful, and the contents of the exhibition are spectacular. We have been to Egypt and seen many of the principal sites ourselves, such as the temple at Abu Simbel or the Valley of the Kings, but this told us much we didn't know. It seems extraordinary that the new Museum in Cairo could lend so many key items without, one assumes, making even a dent in its own displays! Anyway, a privilege to see these exhibits in London.

The whole exhibition was amazing. The artefacts were very well set out with associated information. The film sequences throughout further enhanced the exhibition. Would thoroughly recommend.

At was very interesting to see how live Ramzes 2nd and his wife. There are a lot o treasures from the tomb which was nice to see.

Getting started

Arrive at NEON, Battersea Power Station, and present your ticket near the main entrance for validation. After a brief security check, you’ll enter the exhibition space and can begin exploring at your own pace.

This major international exhibition brings over 180 priceless artefacts from Egypt’s golden age to London, many on display for the first time in the UK. Explore the reign, legacy, and vision of Ramses II through original objects, immersive environments, and dynamic storytelling.

Features:

Coffin of Ramses II: See the intricately decorated coffin of Egypt’s longest-reigning pharaoh, presented as Osiris, complete with royal sceptres and the iconic nemes headdress.

Limestone colossus: Marvel at a monumental statue of Ramses II, shown holding a mekes and wearing the traditional striped headdress reserved for kings.

Mask of King Amenemope: Examine a gold funerary mask adorned with lapis lazuli and carnelian, showcasing the craftsmanship of ancient royal workshops.

Funerary mask of General Wendjebauendjed: View a gold mask with glass-inlaid eyes, designed to preserve the general’s idealised portrait for eternity.

Battle of Kadesh animation: Experience a virtual depiction of one of ancient history’s largest battles, highlighting Ramses II’s military prowess and diplomacy.

Immersive environments: Walk through recreated temple scenes, royal tombs, and galleries filled with animal mummies, jewellery, and colossal carvings.

What’s not allowed

Large bags, suitcases, and oversized luggage are not allowed inside the exhibition and cannot be left with Box Office staff.

Pushchairs are not allowed within the exhibition but can be held at the venue.

Due to venue restrictions, pets cannot tag along for this experience.

Outside food and beverages are not allowed on this exhibition.

The exhibition is recommended for visitors aged 5 and older; the VR experience is recommended for ages 8+.
