Almost everything about the tour was enjoyable. It turned out to be a small group, 7 in total, 3 different nationalities/languages. Even though it was an English guided tour, the guide (Belgian) was able to speak to each group in their own language to make sure they understood. The only downside unfortunately, was that we failed to find the Northern Lights which was a pity. Maybe, the next trip!

Alex was very nice and knowledgeable guy! It was minus -17(real feel -22) so the bbq and fireplace in the tend and the wam juice was a nice touch while we waited. In the end the northern lights is a natural phenomenon so sometimes you get more lucky than others, we saw it but very minimally but still overall a great experience

It was a good idea to have a BBQ together with an evening out to see aurora. Even without seeing the lights, we get to sit by a warm fire and enjoy some food. Fortunately we had both. The lights was feint but showed up on the phone camera.

We did see the lights but limited. It's a natural phenomenon after all but the sausages, and fireplace with the warm juice helped while we waited for the lights to make an appearance. Otherwise it would've been a long night at -20 degrees

I booked in last minutes but everything was smooth. Enjoyed a lot with the barbecue and lucky enough to see the northern light (it was cute but still) Thank you Alex!

Pick-up is available from selected hotels or the local office in Rovaniemi (if the option is selected). After a brief introduction, your guide provides winter overalls and boots before heading out into the Arctic forest.

What to bring

Bring a valid photo ID to match your booking if requested at pickup.

Have your booking confirmation (digital or printed) ready for pickup and check-in.

What’s not allowed

Unaccompanied children under 12 are not allowed; all children must be accompanied by an adult paying full price.

Pets are not permitted, except registered service animals.

Alcohol, drugs, or any form of intoxication are strictly prohibited.

Smoking is not allowed inside vehicles or during group activities.

The tour involves walking on uneven, snowy, or icy terrain in natural settings.

Additional information

Northern Lights sightings are not guaranteed as they depend on weather conditions and solar activity.

Minimum age for participation is 3 years; infants under 2 join free of charge.

At least 2 people are required for small group tours on weekdays and Saturdays; at least 4 on Sundays and public holidays.

Maximum group size is 8 guests per car for small group tours; large group tours may have more participants.

Be ready in your hotel lobby 10 minutes prior to scheduled pickup; exact departure time is in your confirmation email.

If the Northern Lights are not captured by the photographer, you may join the tour again within 1 week at half price (subject to availability).

Children aged 3–11 must be accompanied by an adult.
