After (or before) your museum visit, head over to the Empire State Building in Midtown. Scan your ticket at the entrance and take the elevator ride up to the famous 86th-floor open-air observatory.

The 86th floor of the Empire State Building offers one of the most classic and beloved views in all of New York City. Step outside onto the wraparound observatory and take in sweeping, unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline, the Hudson and East Rivers, and even the Statue of Liberty on a clear day. With both open-air and indoor areas, you can enjoy the experience comfortably year-round.
