2026년 6월5/5Went with my partner for our anniversary. The bus ride was longer than I expected (bring a neck pillow!!), but honestly the scenery made up for it. Saw so many little villages on the way, and our guide Jamal told stories about everywhere we passed. Desert camp was cooool, but gets cold at night—def pack a hoodie. Food was decent, not wow, but I loved the tagine at the lunch stop in Tinghir. We met a lovely couple from Germany and ended up playing cards with them in the tent. Little downside: camels are kinda bumpy, so if you have back probs, maybe skip that part.2026년 6월5/5EPIC adventure! Did the Merzouga desert tour with my brother. Guides were super chill (shoutout to Samir and Omar), they made everyone laugh. Sunrise in the dunes was STUNNING. Bring a bandana tho—sand gets everywhere… I mean everywhere. Loved the music around the campfire at night. Food was better than I thought (big portions too). Only thing: looong days on the minibus, but we stopped often for snacks and pics. Would totally do it again.2026년 6월5/5I went solo and was a bit nervous but the group was suuuper friendly. The guides made sure nobody felt left out. Loved the stop at Ait Ben Haddou—it’s like stepping into a movie set (btw, you can’t take pics inside some spots). The camel ride at sunset was magical, my phone ran out of space from all the photos. Camp tents were clean, and I actually slept well (surprise!). Shoutout to Fatima for lending me a charger.2026년 6월5/5Family trip with my parents and little brother (10yo). Everyone had a great time! The driver, Hamid, was so patient and even taught my brother some Berber words. Tents were bigger than I thought. My mom was worried about toilets but the camp had real bathrooms (huge relief). It gets super chilly after sunset, so pack layers! The stars—WOW, I’ve never seen so many.2026년 6월5/5The views def lived up to the hype but ngl I got a bit car sick on those mountain roads. That being said, the guides were really helpful and got me ginger tea at one of the stops. The tents were a bit cramped for 6 ppl but it was still fun, especially with the music at night. Wish we had more time in the gorges, felt a bit rushed.
Travel from Marrakesh to Fes through the Sahara and Atlas Mountains on a 4 day desert tour with camel rides and desert camping.
Getting started
Begin your journey in Marrakesh, where you board an air conditioned vehicle for the drive towards the Atlas Mountains. After pick up, settle into your seat as your driver outlines the route to the desert and onward to Fes. Keep your mobile ticket handy to show your driver at the start of the tour.
Atlas Mountains drive
What to expect
Leave Marrakesh behind as you cross the Atlas range on your way towards the Sahara. The route gives you changing landscapes, from city outskirts to mountain roads and rural valleys, as you head deeper into southern Morocco.
Features
-
Watch the scenery shift from urban areas to mountain passes and remote villages as you travel between Marrakesh and the desert region.
-
Ride in an air conditioned vehicle for the intercity journey, with the fuel surcharge already covered in your tour.
Merzouga dunes and Sahara camp
What to expect
Arrive at the Merzouga dunes area, where the terrain opens out into the Sahara. Here you switch from road travel to time in the sand, with desert camping forming a key part of your overnight stay.
Features
-
Spend two nights in the desert area, staying at standard camps that use shared bathroom facilities for guests.
-
Take part in camel rides at both sunset and sunrise, giving you time on the dunes at two different times of day.
-
Try sandboarding on the dunes, using the included boards for a short, active session on the sand.
Desert nights and accommodations
What to expect
Across the four days, your accommodation is split between nights in the desert and standard stays outside the dunes. This balances desert camping with more conventional lodging on other nights.
Features
-
Stay for three nights in total, with standard accommodations included as part of the tour itinerary.
-
Spend two of these nights in the desert with shared bathroom facilities, then return to more typical rooms outside the dunes for the remaining night.
Meals and daily routine
What to expect
Your days follow a simple pattern of travel, exploration and meals shared at your accommodation. Mornings and evenings are anchored by included meals, with free time in between to rest or explore nearby surroundings.
Features
-
Start and end your day with the included breakfast and dinner at your accommodations throughout the tour.
-
Plan to arrange and pay for your own lunch and drinks each day, as these are not part of the package.
Optional 4x4 desert tour
What to expect
On the third day, you have the option to explore the desert area in a different way. Instead of staying only at camp and on foot, you can choose a vehicle-based outing.
Features
-
Join an optional 4x4 tour on the third day, adding a guided drive over desert tracks and around the dunes.
-
Keep flexibility in your schedule by deciding on this add on based on your interest once you are at the desert.
