What to expect

Small-Group Catamaran Whale Watch Cruise from Maʻalaea Harbor

Maui’s whale watching season typically takes place during the winter months, and Maʻalaea Harbor offers fast access to some of the island’s most active viewing areas. You will sail aboard a smaller vessel designed for fewer guests, giving you better vantage points and a more personal experience as marine naturalists interpret whale behaviors and vocalizations in real time.

Features:

• Small-vessel advantage: The Ocean Explorer’s reduced capacity means clearer sightlines, easier movement around the deck, and more comfortable seating throughout the cruise.

• Underwater hydrophone listening: Hear humpback whale songs as they happen through underwater hydrophones while experts explain the meaning behind the sounds.

• Expert-led insights: Certified Marine Naturalists share detailed information about migration patterns, surface behaviors, and conservation efforts.

• Engaging kids' program: The Jr. Naturalist Program offers interactive, age-appropriate activities that keep children involved and learning.

• Whale sightings guarantee: If whales are not spotted during your trip, you may return for another whale watch of equal or lesser value within one year at no additional cost.
